I wax lyrical about the lovely weather and then they spring on me that the weekend will be awful....rain and wind they say! Ah well not to worry. If I am to advance post whilst away I need to sort it out this weekend or it won't happen. I have to say I am in two minds as it's a lot or preparation and I feel detached from the posts anyway as I'm not here. We'll see, I'm in two minds not to bother. Get an image up there and leave it until I get back is perhaps the way to go! The one thing I am looking forward to is a little bit of sun on the back of my neck, the warmth is so slow to arrive this year here in the UK.
And so the photo and back to the village of Aghios Ioannis (Άγιος Ιωάννης). Not a derelict house this time actually the opposite. I was drawn to the glorious attempt to brighten this place up! Quite if I could live in this I don't know, I think I might have to have the sunglasses on 24 hours a day! Obviously the finer detail was of little importance as well...still it was a happy little scene to come across after my clambering around in peoples pasts back in the bowels of the village! As I said in an earlier post this village had more than it's fair share of empty houses for me to explore so I will be returning soon as I'm sure I missed a few and probably didn't do a few of them justice. Anyway for those of you with an interest here's an aerial shot of the area. If you pan out you can see although a mountain village it is still very close to the south coast.
I was bruised and battered and I couldn't tell
What I felt
I was unrecognisable to myself
I saw my reflection in a window I didn't know
My own face
Oh brother are you gonna leave me
Wastin´away
On the streets of Philadelphia
I walked the avenue till my legs felt like stone
I heard the voices of friends vanished and gone
At night I could hear the blood in my veins
Black and whispering as the rain
On the streets of Philadelphia
Aint no angel gonna greet me
Its just you and I my friend
My clothes don't fit me no more
I walked a thousand miles
Just to slip the skin
The night has fallen, I'm lyinawake
I can feel myself fading away
So receive me brother with your faithless kiss
Or will we leave each other alone like this
On the streets of Philadelphia
