I managed to walk home from work again which was mighty fine I have to say. No rain and the sun shone, my only problem was the fact that I thought there had been sufficient time between the floods for one of the fields that I walk through on the way home to be without water in it. I got there and the bloody field was flooded! So do I back track for a mile or more or try and circumnavigate the problem? Well I went for a bit of problem solving which necessitated me climbing alone a wire fence like a bloody circus act, my ass inches from a fall in the water. Well I made it, knuckles white form the grip. I love the water meadows where we live but they are pig if you find yourself the wrong side of them, the fields always stay saturated for weeks after the water has subsided elsewhere.
Have you been over to the annual Photomedia Center Holga show? There are all manner of familiar faces over there. I have two images up for grabs but there is so much more to see.
So. last week I went on endlessly about the dam awful weather, endless rain and floods. I took a couple of rolls on the Holga at the time and have been really happy with the results. Over the road from where I live there is a water meadow with a river beside it. Tonight's photo is looking towards the river and beyond into the water meadow. As you can see it has all become one as if the great flood is about to happen again...assuming you believe it happened the first time! so this is the first of three shots I took from this location, this a single exposure the other multiples. If you have a mind to what this area looks like in the relative calm of summer then here is an aerial view of the area.
