I don't think I will have too much to say tonight. I've been out eating and drinking, no not licking wooden posts although on the way home from work I did think for a moment that the apples weren't in reach and that a railway sleeper that had Creosote on it was my only option....but no I reached a few. Yes I was distracted there, the food! Well went to a very nice local seafood restaurant with some friends...drank a lot of very nice white wine and had some grilled Oysters followed by Skate with capers. Very nice...I side stepped dessert but enjoyed a large glass of red dessert wine. I swear all they had done was liquidised a big bag of figs! Now I am here with a very nice glass of Jim Beam Whiskey with a touch of water.
There was one other thing, I wore trousers. I know, I know, I feel dirty and cheap! I figured that under the cover of darkness I could get away with it but as soon as I got back I knew I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I kept it to myself. I did feel very cosy, they kind of made me feel like I wanted to curl up in front of the TV. I still have them on now, in fact I may sleep in them tonight they feel that good. Having said that I have just cranked up the electric blanket so I will be nice and warm when I get there
Today's photo is another from the trip in July. One of those bloody hot days of 44 degrees when the only coolness to be had was to be out before you went to bed! Another from the Katharo Plateau (Οροπέδιο Καθαρού, Λασίθι, Κρήτης). A place I adore, above the the village where I stay. There seems to be nothing between you and for ever. There is a peace and quiet that at times is quite deafening. This isn't where the photo was taken but is very close and it makes no bloody difference. Just have a wander and enjoy the aerial view.
I remember we were driving driving in your car
The speed so fast I felt like I was drunk
City lights lay out before us
And your arm felt nice wrapped 'round my shoulder
And I had a feeling that I belonged
And I had a feeling I could be someone, be someone, be someone
