An odd kind of day for me really. I started by taking a trip over to my parents house.....we don't see that much of each other but it is Mothers Day here on Sunday and I won't be able to get over so I took a little something over for my mum to open on the day. I had intended a short visit but stayed way longer and had a terrific time. The conversation seemed relaxed and comfortable and we talked about lots of things in a way that things ought to be talked about with your parents. It seems like it had been a long time. An odd thing to say but I left feeling happier...that was good. Tried to take a few photos but on the whole I had lost the sun however I did find a super little church with graves stones from the middle of the 1600's.......which was very unexpected. I did squeeze a few shots off there....and the sun did poke it's head out for a few minutes for me.
As for the rest of the day...well I have spent the whole evening sat in front of the TV watching Comic Relief 2007. For those of you in the UK it will need no explanation, for those of you elsewhere it is a charity event that takes place every two years whose aim is to try and raise money for disadvantaged children in the UK and in Africa. As I speak at 1am they have raised about £35,000,000 and the total is climbing. The stories they show you...obviously to get you to part with your money just tear your heart out....well they tear mine out and make me want to sell my soul....well I would if I hadn't sold it for a gin and tonic in 1984! Anyway if you have a mind check out the link I have supplied or go and look at the comic releif site.
OK today's photo was taken back around New Year on a walk around Bath Racecourse. There are records showing a meeting there as early as July 1811 and it was noted in 1903 as being the highest course above sea level at 780 feet. If you are interested in it's location then here is a link to a map.
