I just loved the beautiful pattern on this old door, wonderfully faded with the weather and yet still showing some of it's former beauty! The parched grass and stone walls just seemed to add to the whole thing for me. Always a joy to photograph, it is this faded beautiful aspect of Crete that I love to try and capture. Equally I always sense that many Cretans are striving for what we have and are completely indifferent to this.
