I have been looking at this empty shell of a hotel for years, for the 12 years I have been going to Crete. It is situated in the village of Pachia Ammos (Παχειά Άμμος). I had no idea why it was built as it's in the middle of nowhere. I recently discovered that many years ago there was going to be an airport built in the area, this place would have been in an ideal location, if it had been built. But, it wasn't and now the place is a shell that was never completed and never inhabited. Now it just sits, a huge lump of concrete used by the locals as storage space and as occasional stables. This room was deep in the bowels of the building!
